Certification is self-directed, remote, and free, and runs at two levels: Instructor and Coach.
Becoming certified as an Instructor
Complete Exercise to Music Level 2 (or equivalent) first. This is a prerequisite — the video assessments build on it, they don't replace it.
Submit six videos through pungra.help.center:
Five knowledge videos, each under 3 minutes, each answering one set question:
What makes group exercise to Punjabi music a worthwhile activity to take part in
What makes group exercise to Punjabi music different to performing to Punjabi music
Examples of Punjabi music used in your class
Misconceptions, myths, and misunderstandings about Punjabi music, performing, and exercising
How to pronounce "bhangra" correctly, including examples of other commonly mispronounced words
One skills video, showing you leading a class through five songs, applying Pungra Moves and building on the technique from Exercise to Music Level 2. This is submitted together with a written plan for each of the five songs, using the same planning method as Exercise to Music Level 2.
Receive feedback. Resubmissions are unlimited and there's no fee for retaking any assessment.
Once approved, you receive a Pungra certification number, which appears in the instructor directory alongside your listing. Instructor certification is valid for one year.
Progressing to Coach
Coach status isn't a separate exam — it's earned through consistency. Complete Instructor certification, then renew it three further times (four Instructor cycles in total) to be awarded Coach status.
See "What's the difference between an Instructor and a Coach?" for how the two roles actually differ in the room, and "What is CEAT?" for the methodology assessed in your skills video.
